Rhonda Otway, LMFT, LPCC

I am licensed in the State of California as a  Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT42530) and as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC542).  I am also licensed in the State of Texas as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (202178) and as a Licensed Professional Counselor (77039). I am a registered out-of-state telehealth provider for the state of Florida (TPMC3840). I am a Board Certified-TeleMental Health Provider (BC-TMH 1090). 

I have been providing therapy since 1998, when I began volunteering at a crisis center in  Northern California.  Since then, I have also worked for a nonprofit counseling service, a county mental health clinic, and had a private practice in San Ramon, California, Fair Oaks Ranch, Texas, and now in Dana Point, California.

I grew up in El Paso, Texas, attended UTEP for three years before moving to Roswell, NM and received my bachelor of science degree in Psychology from Eastern New Mexico University in Portales, NM.  In addition, I have also lived in Anchorage, AK, St. Louis, MO,  and Seattle, WA.

I worked over 20 years in several corporate, nonprofit and government settings prior to becoming a licensed therapist.   I received my master's degree in Mental Health Counseling at City University of Seattle.  In addition, I have completed extensive training and received certification in both Crisis Counseling and Grief Counseling. I am also a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) and a Certified Narcissistic Abuse Treatment Clinician (NATC). I am also a trained EMDR therapist. 

I am a member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, the American Counseling Association, and the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists.
